Running in the Tall Grass 2

Welcome back to Running in the Tall Grass.  I’m back on Route 8, had a short stint inside the Connecting Cave, rode a Rhyhorn across Route 9, and navigated the Glittering Cave.  I had encountered a total of 100 Pokémon of 20 different species across all areas I ventured:

21 Zangoose -21%

20 Wingull- 20%

15 Drifloon- 15%

11 Spoink- 11%

4 Inkay- 4%

4 Seviper- 4%

3 Sandile- 3%

3 Absol- 3%

3 Meinfoo- 3%

2 Whismur- 2%

2 Medatite- 2%

2 Cubone- 2%

2 Lunatone- 2%

2 Rhyhorn-2 %

1 Zubat-1 %

1 Hippopotas- 1%

1 Kangaskhan-1 %

1 Solrock- 1%

1 Machop- 1%

1 Mawile- 1%

I elected to not separate them by location for the sake of simplicity.  I also didn't want to try and calculate the percentages for each area.  and having 100 Pokemon found meant that i could just put the number of each species as the percentage. Anyway, my Connecting Cave encounters happened just like last time, passing through to see the scientist in there to heal my party.  I had no rare encounters, but did have a wider variety of Pokemon found.  

You all recall what the Route 8 encounters looked like, and it almost completely matches what i found, except that i had 4 Zangoose/Seviper horde encounters.  What this means is that I found 5 solo Zangoose in the grass. The Wingull hordes, although common, were kinda unexpected, at least after the third one.  Drifloon and Spoink maintain their common encounter rate.  Inkay was a bit more frequent than last time, Seviper was with the Zangoose assault squads.  Absol proved that it is rare, and Meinfoo actually stepped back from last time.  

Route 9, as i mentioned above, had me riding a rental Rhyhorn, so all my encounters were done by the Rhyhorn stepping on the Pokemon in question.  On the way to Glittering Cave, i only encountered 2 pokemon, the Hippopotas and a Sandile.  I found the other 2 Sandile on the way back. The Glittering Cave actually gave me more rare encounters than common ones, seeing that rather surprised me.  Especially finding both Kangaskhan and Mawile in the same run of the cave.
