Story Time

I decided to make my first post on this blog a story.  I may or may not have more of these, but this is definitely a "whatever strikes my fancy" type of blog. Anyways, time to tell my story, a true story i might add

Back when I was eleven I lived out in the middle of nowhere out in the country of Montgomery County, Indiana, i had to get creative with entertainment,  so I took up amateur botany in our weed choked garden.  With my North American Wildlife book, multi-colored zipties in hand, and the afternoon sun at my back, I began my task, tagging each and every plant i could find in the book.  After a while my eye itched, so i did what anyone else would do, i rubbed it, and then continued where i left off.  Pretty soon, i began to realize that i couldn't see too well out of my eye, not to mention that i was really feeling good.  So i had a seat on the porch swing and began really swinging hard. Mom came out to see how i was doing and noticed that there was something wrong with my right eye, which i had rubbed earlier when i was out in the garden.  I ran into the bathroom to look in the mirror and see that the pupil of my right eye had dilated so much that my iris had disappeared. Mom freaked out and rushed me to the hospital because i had a migraine headache the day before and she thought that it might have been something serious.  After a CAT scan, the local medical staff not only didn't alleviate my mother's fears, but amplified them.  They couldn't find anything on the scan, so they told Mom that it might be a brain aneurysm, so they strapped me in an ambulance and took me to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for an MRI.  That too came up clean, so i find myself sitting on a bed surrounded by clueless doctors trying to figure out what the problem is, when the intern decided that 20 Questions was in order.  I don't recall the questions, but he got out of me that i had gotten in some Jimson Weed that was growing in the garden, i had gotten some of the oil from it in my eye when i rubbed it and that dilated my pupil.  It wasn't until years later that i realized that i was high as i kite, and therefore the only time that I have gotten high, a high that lasted 9 hours.  It was this experience that caused me to not really trust the medical profession, not saying they're all quacks, just most of them.

I hope you enjoyed reading this, and stay tuned for the next random thought that enters my head.  Until next time, Toodles ^^
